The PSU Experience: Exploring the Six Themes
Limited Capacity seats available

Participants will break into groups based on one of the six themes from the book that most resonated with them: Learning, Relationships, Expectations, Alignment, Improvement, and/or Leadership. (Groups will be facilitated by author Betsy Barefoot and members of the Transition Leadership Team).
Participants will begin by sharing their first impressions of the morning keynote. They will then:
  • Reflect on their own UG/grad experiences in relation to the theme, including and noting specific examples from their personal experiences.
  • Discuss and rate (on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the highest) PSU’s performance on their specific theme.  What’s working well? What needs improvement? Make sure to include specific examples.
Participants/facilitators will share each group's rankings and examples via email with Ann McClellan (akmcclellan@plymouth.edu) by the end of the session. These will be used to re-situate our afternoon work after lunch.
OPEN TO ALL FACULTY, STAFF, AND STUDENTS, even if you have not yet read the book.

Limited Capacity seats available

Following the post-lunch sharing of the group priorities, participants will choose either to return to their original group/theme or join a different themed group, based on their interests and priorities.
Once in the groups, members will reflect on how they can integrate the principles of the book into their daily work and the culture of PSU. Some questions/discussion topics to consider:
  • What would you recommend for moving forward in your particular theme area?
  • What specific actions could you or the university take in the next one, two, or three years to improve in this area?
  • How can we build on our strengths and weaknesses?
Group facilitators will take notes of the discussion to share with Betsy and the TLT.
OPEN TO ALL FACULTY, STAFF, and STUDENTS.
